Eco-Benin

Eco-Benin uses ecotourism as an economic pillar for the development of local communities, or in regions where incomes traditionally associated with fishing or agriculture are declining or in localities with natural and cultural heritage threatened endangered or overused. The activities of the NGOs aim to develop simple tourist services that benefit primarily the host communities and participate in the protection of their natural resources and their cultural identity.

To do this, Eco-Benin seeks to equitably distribute revenues travel between communities but also to develop and enhance natural resources. With a dozen development projects introduced since its inception in 1999, Eco-Benin has established a Carbon Action Plan which aims at planting mangroves.
